Some people have noticed that Ulric’s pose has changed since the first render and prototype. This was done to make production easier, as the extended hand gave the large potential for some QC issues down the road. We also had the kneepads refined so that the design on them really pops in the 2″ scale.

The new sculpt opens up some neat alternatives though, it does allow for a headlock or bulldog type of display if the opponents head is small enough. Nothing was changed on the opposing arm so suplex and bodyslam poses should function (again depending on the size of the opponent).

This is not to say the previous version won’t get made, Ulric is the AWF Heavyweight Champion and the focal point of main player in our story. Ulric 1.0 may be a blind bagged variant, he may be given free to those who actually attend the cons, or he might be in a future wave.

We also intend to have variations of every character based on their sales, reception, and what we think we can do with them.

    He looks more confident in this pose, making the figure more similar to the 2D art.

    If there was QC issues/concerns then how can you offer it down the line?

      Because offering it later affords us the time to work through any issues and test some corrections out before release. The tight window we have before April’s launch does not allow us to change too much which is why we changed the sculpt to something easier to reproduce.
