We are still working out our slideshow functionality, but we have uploaded the C2E2 Windy City Wreckage Comic for those who were unable to buy the set.
Goliath was never meant to be a threat, his sole reasoning for taking this match was to wear Ulric down for Sheldon to get his way. Similar to how Andre the Giant really did not want to defeat Hogan, he was simply a piece in the Million Dollar Man’s plan to buy the belt 😉
I am planning a supersized comic for the Fall, that one will be more fleshed out. Everything here is hand drawn and put together, each piece is very large and we put it together once its all done. I am hoping to get more of the match in the future but this comic was just to set the stage for overall narrative of multiple characters 🙂
Goliath is now suspended for 6 months and has a big match in the works when he returns.
Got to keep up with the story though, the hurt that Ulric suffered is going to show itself very soon…
Good points and that supersized comic sounds really interesting.
Will it be included with a figure or will we be able to purchase it separately?
You could consider offering it on Comixology to reach an even wider audience. There aren’t a lot of wrestling comics on the market, let alone good ones. 😉
I understand that Goliath didn’t come in there to defeat Ulric, but wearing someone down can also be achieved by giving someone a (brutal) beating or playing possum.
Andre looked good in his match with Hogan. Goliath comes across as a living punching bag.
Perhaps if a panel was added where Goliath has a smirk on his face during the beating than I would think: aha, Goliath is allowing Ulric to get all that offense in.
All comics will first be included with figures, but we are compiling them as we speak. Our plan is to ultimately release a trade paperback/print release as well as put it on digital stores like Comixology and Kaboom so people can buy them without the figures. I look to do that sometime next year when we amass enough stories to adequately give the reader their moneys worth 🙂
These editions that appear for sale separately will also have the added bonus of having extended panels, and a few never before seen stories, since they are meant for a wider audience that may not have any idea of the line itself. When we make these comics its to meet a deadline so some things are not as fleshed out as they should be.
However I think that Ulric using Goliath as a punching bag does have some validity, Goliath is a very overconfident individual and given his size he has every right to be so. When Ulric figures out his weaknesses it throws him for a loop, while his goal was never to actually win the match he also did not expect to be embarrassed. I wanted to set a precedent that just because you are bigger and stronger does not mean you win by default. In the rush to make it to launch there is only so much that can be revisited or adjusted. I understand what you are saying though, which is why I think you will appreciate the more fleshed out versions of the comics that come later 🙂
Thanks for posting this.
I like the drawings and the story so far.
Goliath didn’t turn out to be much of a threat though.
With a page or two more he could have gotten a little more offense in.
